Do
I have to take the entire course at one time?
No. The system automatically bookmarks the
last page you visited and tracks all your progress up to that point. One exception is that if you exit in the
middle of a quiz, you must retake the quiz when you return. Otherwise, you may exit and re-enter the
course as often as you wish while maintaining your progress.
When you return, you will see the Menu
page. There, you will see a list of the
course modules with an indication of the last module you visited. Click on that module to return to the last
page you visited. If you exit in the
middle of a quiz, you will have to retake the quiz when you log back on.

What
type of computer and internet connection work best?
The educational content provided on this web site
was engineered for the optimal experience to be obtained via a PC with a
broadband internet connection. Those
attempting to view the content with a laptop may be required to adjust the
display settings in order to achieve a better experience. The System Check feature on this web site
will also help you determine if the more critical aspects of your computer
configuration are compatible with taking the course.
How
do I get a User ID and Password to log in with?
If you are eligible to take a course, you
would have been recently notified by PaPRI via
letter. That letter includes your User
Name and Password, unless you have previously logged in and changed your
password yourself.
The login information you provided is
incorrect!
If you have a User Name and Password, you may
have entered one or both of them incorrectly.
Remember that the system is upper/lower case sensitive. And the entire User Name must be entered,
including any dashes or other special characters. Confirm your login information and try again.
I
forgot my User Name or Password.
In general, your User Name is your PaPRI policy number.
Enter your User Name, and then click I
forgot my password on the login screen.
The system will email you a new Password, but only if you have been in
the system previously and entered your email address.
While logged in to the web site, go to My
Profile. Enter a new Password. The system requires that for new passwords,
there must be at least 8 characters using at least one number and at least one
special character (!, #, $, %, etc.).
Then click Save.
Why
must I enter my email address?
The first time you login to the web site, it
will require you to enter your email address.
It will be used to remind you of your Password if you forget.
How
do I change my email address?
While logged in to the web site, go to My
Profile. Enter a new email address and click
Save.
There
is no course listed for me to take right now.
In general, if you are currently eligible to
take a course, you would have been automatically registered for the online
version of the course, and you would have received a personal letter in the
mail from PaPRI notifying you about the course. So if there is no course listed for you, it
is possible that you are not currently eligible to take a course.
Nothing
happens when I try to start the course, or it is downloading too slowly.
Ensure
that you are clicking on the name of the course, which serves as a link to
start the course. The course will not be
downloaded to your computer. Like most
online courses, it is delivered via pop-up screens, so most likely, you have
one or more pop-up blockers enabled which prevent the course from being
displayed. You do not need to completely disable your pop-up blockers,
but you must disable them for the web site used for this course. Disable
them when you are logging in to take the course.
Some examples of software that have pop-up
blockers built in are the Google toolbar, Norton Antivirus, and the Yahoo
toolbar. Since there are so many
different pop-up blockers, it is beyond the scope of this web site to tell you
how to disable each one. Contact us if
you need technical assistance.
Or, you can momentarily disable most pop-up
blockers by holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard when you click the course
name. Then, hold down the Ctrl key again
when clicking Begin Course or Start Course.
If this works for you, you will have to hold the Ctrl key down each time
you would like to allow a pop-up.
I
lost my place in the course, how do I get back?
First, try clicking the Menu button at the top
of the course. On the Menu page, you
will see a list of the course modules with an indication of the last module you
visited. Click on that module to return
to the last page you visited.
Or, try clicking the Index button at the top
of the course. In the Index window, it
lists all pages in the course. The page names
are bolded for pages you have completed, and not bolded for pages you have not
yet visited. Click on the last bolded
page name to return to where you last visited.
Then close the Index window.
The
course seems to be frozen, I cannot advance. What do I do?
You may have temporarily lost your internet
connection, so the first thing to do is confirm that you are still connected,
and if not, reestablish the connection.
If the course is still frozen, try to exit the
course using the exit button at the top of the page. You can then re-enter the course and resume
where you left off by clicking on the module that you last visited.
